I am pleased to share that two of my images, “Sandwich Vendor” and “Bubbles”, were selected for the Visual Arts Alliance 32nd Juried Open Exhibition. Out of 598 entries from 17 states, only 59 pieces of artwork were selected by juror Sally Sprout. The opening reception will be March 11, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:30pm at Williams Tower, 2800 Post Oak Blvd, Houston.
The show will be on display until April 10, 2015.
Both images were taken in Paris in the Latin Quarter. The Paris series is available in limited edition prints.

The first image, “Bubbles”, was created when a break in the rain on a cold December day brought people out at Place St. Michel. This gentleman was entertaining the crowds near Notre Dame creating huge bubbles that children go crazy over. It was dusk, so the lights were coming on which created a great backdrop to the bubbles.
My second award winning image, “Sandwich Vendor”, was conceived as I walked past this sandwich shop daily during my visits to Paris. This particular gentlemen was very proud of his offering, and not fond of my camera. I passed by many times waiting for that perfect opportunity to get the right expression, and the other gentlemen in the back just makes this image. I wonder who was in charge? The gentlemen waved me on after I got my shot. “Sandwich Vendor” also won Best in Show in the Houston Photographic Society’s 2013 Annual competition.
